Easy Way To Enable User-Specific Wireless Networks

Setting up user specific wireless network access is very useful especially when you want to deny a particular user from playing computer games on his computer or accessing internet by not providing the required authentication like passwords etc to do so. Here are the steps mentioned below. These steps are simple but to be on a safe side, you are required to perform this with the help of an online tech support provider.

Setting up user specific wireless networks – The first thing you would have to do in this regard is to go to the network and sharing center option present on the Network and internet settings window. Once you have reached there, clicks on manage wireless networks and then select profile types option. Under profile type's option, you will get to see another option like use all users and per user profiles, select it. You will come across a warning message indicating that using the switch user function by keeping both the users logged on at the same time may possibly cut off another user. Since this is what we are going to achieve, ignore the message and continue by clicking on the save button. Your system is now able to use the user specific profiles at this point but the current profiles are still set as all user.

Creating user specific wireless network connections – You can either create new user specific wireless connections by simply connect to a network where per user option is the default one, or you can convert a current one by removing it first. For this, select it from the list available on manage wireless networks window and click remove button. You can now click on the wireless icon present on the system tray and get connected to it by providing the password. When you right click on the entry present in the list and go to its properties, you will be able to see the network availability option is set to me only now. The same thing will happen to any network you want to connect to.

Creating a user specific or a global wireless network – If you click on the add button from manage wireless networks window, you can choose between the options of global and user specific manually, which is very useful. Now click on the manually create a network profile option which will take you to the screen where you need to fill out all the required details manually. Here you will get the option of creating it on a per user basis or for everybody on the network.

This is something new about the Windows 7 operating system which we have learnt. Though the steps are simple to perform, you may still require a help from the Microsoft technical support provider available online.
